Silane impregnation material is a penetration-type, water-repellent, breathable and long-term anti-corrosion special protective material for concrete. Its main components are alkyl alkoxysilanes such as isobutyltriethoxysilane and octyltriethoxysilane. It can penetrate 2–10 mm deep into concrete and form a chemically bonded hydrophobic layer, greatly improving structural durability.
Functions of Silane Impregnation Material on Concrete
1. Water repellent and seepage prevention Penetrates into substrate to form hydrophobic layer and block rainwater and salt water intrusion.
2. Corrosion protection for steel bars Resists chloride ion erosion and avoids structural damage caused by steel rust expansion.
3. Freeze-thaw resistance Reduces pore water accumulation and prevents surface sanding and peeling from frost heave.
4. Carbonation retardation Slows down carbonation process and maintains structural strength.
5. Efflorescence inhibition Blocks upward salt migration and prevents surface whitening and peeling.
6. Weather resistance Defends against wind sand and UV radiation to slow aging and cracking.
7. Breathable performance Pores remain unblocked for internal moisture discharge without damaging concrete.
