Self-Cleaning Coating Material for Concrete Surfaces

The porous structure of concrete makes it prone to absorbing moisture and suspended particles in the air (including nitrogen and sulfur compounds). After adsorbing such substances, the structural integrity of concrete will be severely compromised, and in severe cases, the safety of the concrete structure will be endangered. As an emerging material in concrete surface protection, superhydrophobic self-cleaning coatings not only protect concrete from erosion by acid rain, chloride ions and other corrosive agents, but also endow concrete structures with scrub-free, mold-free and anti-icing properties.

Technical Features

  • Excellent Corrosion Resistance  Thanks to its outstanding chemical inertness, the coating film is resistant to acids, alkalis, salts and various chemical solvents, forming a protective barrier for the substrate. The coating film is tough with high surface hardness, excellent impact resistance, flexural resistance and abrasion resistance, demonstrating exceptional physical and mechanical properties.

  • Maintenance-Free & Self-Cleaning  The coating has extremely low surface energy, allowing surface dust to be self-cleaned by rainwater. It features excellent hydrophobicity (maximum water absorption < 5%) and oil repellency, with a very low friction coefficient (0.15–0.17), preventing dust adhesion and fouling, and delivering good anti-fouling performance.

  • Strong Adhesion  It exhibits excellent adhesion to metals such as copper and stainless steel, plastics such as polyester, polyurethane and vinyl chloride, cement, composite materials and more, showing suitability for adhesion to almost all types of materials.

  • Extra-Long Weather Resistance  The coating contains a large number of F–C bonds, which determine its ultra-high stability. It does not chalk or fade, with a service life of up to 20 years, providing superior performance compared to any other type of coating.
